The orphaned lamb was kindly loaned to the pre-school by local woman Leanne Crampton who is currently nursing the little guy at her Burra farm.
The children gave Billy plenty of love and attention providing an endless supply of kisses, cuddles and a good scratch or two behind the ear and under his chin.
Director Janine White said it was great hands-on experience for the young ones.
“A lot of children don’t have these experiences or connection with animals,” she said.
“It’s a down to earth experience that your can’t provide from picture books or from talking or watching the television. I think it’s lovely for children to have real life experiences, nothing beats it.”
