US entertainer Redfoo says a man, who was being held by police after throwing a glass at him in a hotel in Sydney's eastern suburbs, winked and blew a kiss at him.

The attack, which police described as a "glassing", occurred at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay just after 12.30am on Thursday.
It left Redfoo, a judge on the Channel Seven reality music competition X-Factor, bleeding from a cut to his head.
Police said a 21-year-old man approached Redfoo in the hotel on New South Head Road and threw the glass at him in an unprovoked attack.
Redfoo, 38, whose real name is Stefan Kendal Gordy, said he was in the VIP section of the hotel when he was attacked by a man whom he had never previously met.

The glass struck Redfoo above the right eye, leaving a one-centimetre cut on his face. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Photographs taken after the attack show blood running down the right side of his face.
Redfoo told radio show KIIS 1065 that he and his crew were celebrating the launch of his new song and were about to leave the hotel to go to an after-party when he was struck with a glass.
"The first thing I do is look where it came from and I see, you know, a dude kind of like ducking and dodging and trying to run away, so the chase is on. But then he is being detained, and I'm being held back," Redfoo told the radio station.
"The guy, it was just crazy. He did blow the kiss ... like a taunting thing, you know. That's just crazy to me. That's too far."
Redfoo said he had never previously seen the man, "never met the guy".
"We have no clue [why he threw the glass]. I think the first thing I thought of was: 'It's got to be some kind of jealously or something,' " Redfoo said.
He said he made a statement to police, who told him that the attack was captured on surveillance camera.
Redfoo also questioned why glass cups were available at the venue.
"My thing is, who has glass cups, these big glass cups? Because it's not a normal glass cup, [it was] like a thick glass cup," he said.
"In most clubs you go to they don't have glass bottles, they're plastic ... That's what I just hope out of this whole situation, is that they change the cups."
He said he wanted his alleged attacker to explain his behaviour.
"I just want to know why would you launch a glass at somebody's head with the intention of [hurting]. It's unbelievable," he said.
The attack left hotel patrons stunned.

He was arrested and taken to Waverley police station, where he was charged with malicious wounding.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on September 24.
