The Queanbeyan Whites fourth grade side have won their 2014 ACT Rugby Union competition in impressive style, wiping away the Tuggeranong Vikings 37-22 at Viking Park on Saturday.

While the home side started well and raced out to a 10-0 lead after around 10 minutes, it was all one-way traffic from there, as the Queanbeyan boys spread and ran the ball with ease in amassing their four tries.

And as an underdog to local rugby's largest club, the one hundred or so Queanbeyan faithful that made the trip were on their feat.

This was not only the case at full time, but at half time as well, with the Whites having already scored most of their points to lead 30-10 at half time.

It was practically their best effort all season, after beating the Tuggeranong men a fortnight ago 24-20 to go straight to the grand final, and they were able to even improve from that.

Scrumhalf Duncan Doyle was on fire, having a hand in most of his team's tries and using his tricky footwork to find space in the Vikings' line.

The Whites struggled to find possession in the first ten minutes, but they started spreading the ball, and their opponents had little answers to them.

They barged over for two tries in the forwards, before fullback Lachlan Freeth found his feet and became instrumental.

He dived over for a try himself, and his work at the back lead to a try to winger Caden Helmers.

In the second half a big hit forced a Vikings error behind their line, and centre Tim Hawke pounced on the ball and raced 40 metres to score.

The Vikings scored two late consolation tries, but were left pondering what could have been, as Queanbeyan started their clubs celebrations for the day.
