It comes as the Kangaroos look to begin welcoming back some of their seven regular first grade players that suffered injuries in a brutal round eight clash against the Woden Valley Rams, won by a whisker by the Kangaroos 30-28.
They were down to just 14 fit men in that game, but besides forward Matt Lewis, who Gorrell said would be "touch and go", forwards Adam Pearce, Troy Whiley, Josh Baker, Aidan Woods, and backs Richard Kelly and Robbie Byatt are all making progress.
"Everyone else [besides Lewis] should be all right before the semi-finals," said Gorrell.
For the Blues fullback Adam Misios suffered a broken jaw in his side's 30-28 win over the West Belconnen Warriors at the weekend, and will be out for the rest of the season.
Skipper and half Marc Herbert suffered a knock to his eye, while Zac Woolford, son of coach Simon, suffered a concussion.
While Simon Woolford said Herbert and Zac Woolford should return to the field, the injuries come as bad news for the club, which has already suffered eight separate injuries this season.
"The prognosis with Herbert is much better now, but he's had a bit of concussion as well, so he may miss a week," said Woolford.
"Misios had a head clash and he looked pretty crook when he came off and it didn't surprise me at all when he told me he had a broken jaw."
"Zac should be fine though. He passed doctors tests on Monday morning, and as long as he can get through contact training, he'll be ok."
Woolford backed the depth of his backline to fill for Misios.
Each of Tom Ruedinger, Jake Knight, Jake Wheeler, Craig Wilkinson, and Trey Clark could switch to fullback, along with a backline shuffle.
