Chantelle Hourigan was certainly in for a surprise when her partner Ray Morgan presented her with a Kinder Surprise chocolate egg one night. Underneath the foil layer and lying within the delicious confection wasn't a cute plastic toy but instead a beautiful engagement ring.
After four years together, Ray, 30 popped the question and of course Chantelle's, 23, answer was a resounding 'yes'.
The couple decided to hold their wedding ceremony in Queanbeyan Park in front of 90 family and friends. Their reception was at Airport International, Queanbeyan.
Chantelle described it as a very special day with her mother, Robyn, walking her down the aisle.
"I couldn't think of anyone better to do it, she's my inspiration," she said of Robyn. "My two daughters Brelle and Tennille were so beautiful and most of all at the end of the day, I married my best friend.
"What I love about Ray is that he's my best friend and a great dad. I love everything about him."
The wedding had a "traditional" theme with plenty of yellow accents. Chantelle wore an asymmetrical, floor-length gown by Annabel's Bridal Studio, Kingston and the groom a three-piece black suit with canary yellow tie. The day was captured by the bride's cousin, Carrie Jackson of Cberra.
The couple went on a well-deserved honeymoon to the Gold Coast, Queensland.
