THE Queanbeyan Whites have secured their spot in the John I Dent Cup finals after edging out Royals 27-22 at Phillip Oval last weekend.
The Whites will meet Wests in the final round of the regular season tomorrow at Campese Field but Queanbeyan’s finals hopes are already assured.
This season will mark a return to finals football for the club which finished out of the top four in 2011 after a run of five successive grand final appearances.
The Whites can finish no higher or lower than fourth on the standings, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow’s match.

THERE was a time when Monaro Panthers fans would have been delirious with excitement at the sight Mark Shields netting five goals at Riverside Stadium.
Unfortunately for the Panthers those times have come and gone after the talented striker ran riot against his former club in Tuggeranong United’s 6-2 drubbing of Monaro last weekend.
Having parted ways with the Panthers at the end of last season, Shields had a field day at his former stomping ground , bagging two goals in the first-half before netting a hat-trick after the break.

Queanbeyan’s arch-rivals White Eagles are already assured of grabbing top spot with one game to play having gone unbeaten so far this year.
