THE Queanbeyan Art Society launched its latest exhibition on Sunday afternoon, with 110 new works adorning the walls of the local riverside gallery.

The 11th Molonglo Catchment art exhibition will hang until the end of the month, and judge Karen Williams said it was an excellent variety of paintings across five different mediums.
Chairman of the Molonglo Catchment Lynton Bond said also praised the variety of works and how they captured the Molonglo region.
"I am pleased with the quality of the art every year and this Exhibition is one of the best I have viewed. The local artists covered the Molonglo well. A big thanks to the Queanbeyan Art Society for availing their Gallery for the annual exhibition."
Attracting one of the largest crowds to the gallery so far this year, art lovers enjoyed the guest speaker Ian Warden, author of the Canberra Times 'Gang Gang' column for seniors.
Ian spoke of his life and times at The Canberra Times, and suggested that artists these day revisit the medium of self-portraits as many of the old masters did.
Local artists Beverley Dougall took out the Best in Show award with her painting 'Snow Dusting The Brindabellas' in acrylic.
