Queanbeyan will be represented in every grade of the one-day competition finals this weekend with the club’s third and fourth grade sides also set for semi-final action.
But it’s in second grade where the Bluebags will face perhaps their sternest test with last year’s beaten grand finalists facing a daunting ask to progress to this year’s decider.
Queanbeyan and Wests met recently in round nine with the north-Canberra club posting a comprehensive 222-run victory at Jamison Oval.
“It’s not that we’re not a chance but it’s definitely going to be a tough ask,” Corcoran said.
“They’re a really strong, veteran outfit with heaps of quality quick bowlers so they’re going to be pretty confident defending any sort of total.
“Out batting is going to be crucial. We were 6-56 against Tuggeranong at one point last weekend and if our top order doesn’t fire again this weekend we’re going to be in serious trouble.”
Making Queanbeyan’s task even more difficult will be the absence of prolific run scorer Peter Coleborne through injury and wicket keeping opener Raglan Maddox.
In other finals, Queanbeyan third grade will take on Weston Creek while in fourth grade Queanbeyan will meet Wests.
