Police from Goulburn Local Area Command began pursuing a silver hatchback south on the Federal Highway when the driver allegedly failed to stop after being detected speeding shortly after 7am today (Saturday 25 January 2014).
About 7.15am, the vehicle crashed into a guard rail at Bywong, 30km north of Queanbeyan.
Police arrested two women at the scene; the male driver, aged 22, was airlifted to Canberra Hospital while a passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital by NSW Ambulance Paramedics. They are now under police guard.
The women were treated at the scene and are now en route to Queanbeyan Police Station.
Investigations reveal the vehicle was reported stolen from Canberra earlier today.
A critical incident investigation is now underway.
