THE Queanbeyan Blues look set to receive a massive boost heading into the side’s must-win clash against Woden this Saturday with representative prop Jay Lasscock declaring himself a likely starter for the match.
Lasscock has been out of action since suffering rib cartilage damage while playing for the ACT against Newcastle in June in the final of the country championships.
The knock has proved worse than first expected with the 24-year-old having now missed the Blues past four matches.
Lasscock had initially planned a return against Tuggeranong last weekend but only served to exacerbate the injury in what proved a premature attempt to get back on the field.
“I started training again last week and just aggravated it and had no chance,” he said. “I don’t want to play and make it worse and end up missing another three or four weeks.
