The extension, which has doubled the facility's floor space and includes additional meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and new toilets, was officially opened this week.
Mayor Tim Overall said he expected the venue's new addition would be well used with two weddings already booked for the coming year.
"The extension of the Jerrabomberra Community Centre is a very pleasing and much-needed project for the community," Cr Overall said.
"The original Community Centre did not provide enough room for more than one community group to use the facility at any one time.
"The extension provided an additional three rooms, which, if needed, can be opened up to make one large room."
Jerrabomberra Playgroup convenor Elizabeth Lozberis said the extra room would allow more than one group to use the centre at a time.
"There have been issues with different users sharing same bathrooms and kitchen at the same time and disrupting each other," she said.
Mrs Lozaberis said the extension may have freed up the existing space to run the playgroup for an extra day.
She said they would be able to cater for more than 100 local children over a possible four day period.
"Jerrabomberra has a lot of itinerant families so it's great to place for those families to meet other people and children in that age group," Mrs Lozaberis said.
"I think it helps break isolation in community and give people a place to find other families with similar interests.
"I think the new extension is wonderful, it's a great facility for our community to use."
