The four-piece singing group joins a list of local entertainment for the night including the Sing Australia Choir, Fantastix, Impressions Dance and Fitness, Shenanigans, Alan Neal, Sara Turner, Laura Anderson and Bom-Funk Dance Studio. The big man in red Santa Claus is also booked in to make an appearance.
Shiraz Quartet lead Anita Cleaver said the group is looking forward to performing a whole host of Christmas carol classics with a twist.
"The songs will be sung a little differently to what audience members might be used to. It's traditional carols sung in a barbershop arrangement," she said. "The sound is very close harmonically and when you listen it makes your spine tingle."
The set list will include Oh Christmas Tree, O Come All Ye Faithful and Joy to the World as well as a rendition of the Beach Boys' Little Saint Nick.
While Mrs Cleaver is a seasoned performer at Carols in the Park, previously appearing with Shenanigans, this is the Shiraz Quartet's first time at the event.
"We really love giving back to a community that has supported our growth and development. It's a nice way to give back and to perform in front of the kids as they hold up their candles," she said.
"We do get a bit nervous listening to all the wonderful performers before us but we are very excited. For the past six months, it's been our sole purpose to learn these carols."
Queanbeyan Carols in the Park starts at 5pm on Sunday, December 15 in Queanbeyan Park. Candles and songbooks will be available on the night.
