QUEANBEYAN Police have arrested five local men involved in a street brawl overnight.
The men, ranging from 20 – 25-years-old, attended Queanbeyan Local Court today charged with affray, using a vehicle to avoid apprehension and resisting and hindering police.
One man was also charged with using an offensive weapon to avoid arrest.
Queanbeyan Police officers came across the five men fighting outside The Riverside Plaza on Monaro Street at about 11.20pm on Thursday, October 25.
Officers stopped the fight before three of the males involved in the altercation jumped into a vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.
The men drove at police before they were stopped and officers were able to remove the car keys.
Officers found a large quantity of stolen goods after conducting a search of the vehicle.
Two of the males involved in the fight were formally refused bail by Sergeant Arunas Burneikis today.
They will reappear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday, October 28.
