THREE boys, two premierships, one day was the tagline for this talented trio after youngsters Hayden Bradley, Harry Grant and Jack Ross tasted grand final success twice on the same day in two different codes last weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, the three helped Queanbeyan United to a 24-14 win over Woden Weston in the under-12 Zone 1 rugby league grand final at Canberra Stadium.
And less than five hours later they were lifting their second premiership trophy of the afternoon after the Queanbeyan Tigers claimed AFL Canberra’s under-13s title with a 9.4 (58) to 0 drubbing of Ainslie.
The Queanbeyan Tigers enjoyed plenty of success on junior grand final day with the club’s under-14s and under-15s also getting up.
The under-14s downed Ainslie 14.4 (76) to 7.7. (49) at Ainslie Oval before the under-15s trounced Gungahlin 15.12 (102) to 4.6 (30).
In local rugby league, Queanbeyan United took out the under-11s Zone 2 grand final with a 28-24 victory over Cooma. The Queanbeyan Kangaroos, meanwhile, claimed the under-16s Zone 1 title after downing West Belconnen 26-22.
