A RE-ELECTED Rudd Government would contribute $363,000 for new lighting at Dairy Farmers Park, Member for Eden-Monaro Mike Kelly announced on Wednesday.
The upgraded lights would allow the Queanbeyan Tigers Football club to play night games and extend training hours.
Dr Kelly said the broadcast-quality lighting would also enable the Tigers to host Foxtel Cup games and other televised matches.
"The Tigers have developed such a great culture around the club, and they have added to that tremendous success on the field," Dr Kelly said.
"Queanbeyan won the NEAFL Eastern Conference premiership in 2012, and it was a very proud moment this year when the club competed in the prestigious Foxtel Cup competition, with their night game televised live.
"If our Government is re-elected, we will ensure night games can be played right here in Queanbeyan and televised, as well as paving the way for other elite teams to travel here," he said.
