the Calwell Swans at Mackillop College.
Strong marks at centre-half forward, good defence and fast midfield running showed the Tigers have progressed well throughout the season and ensured lots of strong goals were scored.
Award winners were: Liam Hall, Harrison Jolliffe, Finley Budd and James Hill.
The Strip Pizza and Pasta Bar under-9s
ROUND 10 saw the Tigers under-9s matched against the Calwell Swans and the Bulldogs at MacKillop College.
Both teams took time to get back into the swing of footy after the school holiday break. Plenty of goals were soon being scored however, as both Tigers teams took control of possession.
Award winners were: Ella Toussaint, Blake Faunce, Lily Mason and Elijah Brennan.
Biajag Constructions under-10s Black
THE Tigers under-10s Black side played host to the Wildcats last round.
As the Wildcats only had nine players, three Queanbeyan players swapped their jerseys to play for the opposition, allowing everyone to get on the park.
Award winners were: Sam Robinson, Robert Bradford and Joseph Kopec.
Canberra Truck Align under-11s Black
AN understrength Queanbeyan under-11s Black side still proved too strong for Ainslie Red in round 10, running out victors 11.12 (78) to 3.1 (19) at Steve Maugher Oval.
While the scores were close at half-time, the Tigers ran away with the contest after the main break.
Award Winners were: Krew Hitchcock, Sam Robinson and Dysonne Stewart
Baker Deanne & Nutt under-11s Gold
THE Tigers under-11s Gold side proved no match for a well drilled Belconnen Cats outfit at Halloran Oval, going down 9.9 (63) to 0.2 (2).
Queanbeyan was hurt by the absence of a couple of key players while the side was also let down by a lack of discipline in the backline.
Award winners were: Josh Ryder, Oliver Williams and Hunter Robinson.
Mr Brand Man under-12s
JACK HESLOP brought up his 50th game in style last weekend as the Queanbeyan Tigers secured a last-gasp victory over the Belconnen Cats at Steve Maugher Oval.
After a wayward third quarter performance, the Tigers regrouped, kicking two goals in the final five minutes of play to secure an unlikely win.
Award winners were: Clancy Anderson, Liam Murphy, Jack Heslop and Tom Cantwell.
Bakers Delight Jerrabomberra under-13s
THE Tigers under-13s maintained top spot on the ladder with a hard-fought 7.7 (49) to 6.8 (44) victory over the eighth-placed Belconnen Magpies on Saturday.
After a scoreless first term, Jordan Gay got Queanbeyan on the board before Tom McNamara added a second to the Tigers’ tally.
Despite some strong work from Ben Millynn and Adam Houghton, and a goal to Jasper Barnett, the third quarter saw the Tigers drop off the pace.
But Queanbeyan stepped up again after the final change as Liam Shakespeare and Jaime Edwards found the target before two more goals to Barnett secured the come-from-behind win.
Award winners were: Jasper Barnett, Ben Millynn and Liam Shakespeare.
Jill and Nicole Bright under-14s
A STRONG start wasn’t enough to lift the Tigers under-14s to victory over the Magpies Black at Giralang last Saturday.
Queanbeyan began well, kicking the first goal of the match through Christian Palombi while the Tigers forward line of Matt McKenzie, Joe Page and Corey McAlpin were on top of their opponents.
Lachlan Squire, Aidan Bowyer and Connor Hogan won plenty of ball through the middle while the backline led by Zane Fajri and Tyler Van Luin stopped everything that came its way.
Injuries and subsequent positional changes however, halted the Tigers momentum in the second quarter and the Magpies took full advantage to take the win.
Award winners were: Jayson Corbett, Oliver Glamcevski, Joe Page and Scott Kyle.
Bendigo Bank Jerrabomberra under-15s
A 10-GOAL first term helped the Tigers under-15s to a comfortable win over Goulburn at Town Park last Saturday.
The Tigers started on fire with Zak Cowley-Hilton and Darius Marsh prominent up forward.
Matt Verdanaga’s control through the centre was impressive as Nathan Organ and Jackson Street kicked well to position.
Liam Nelson and George Cross led from the front across half-back while the rest of the Tigers’ backline was also dominant with Finley Hollyhead winning a number of contests.
Angus Hoadley and Angus McLaughlin, meanwhile, continued to show they are becoming very adaptable players in defence and attack.
Award winners were: Jackson Street, Liam Nelson, George Cross and Angus Hoadley.
OFFICEWORKS under-17s
THE Tigers under-17s secured a crucial 18.11 (119) to 2.6 (18) victory over Weston Creek last Saturday as the side presses for a finals berth.
The Tigers started well before Queanbeyan opened up the ground in the second term through Jed Simpson, Shaun Franks, Arthur McPhee and Alex Page.
The third quarter saw Darius Marsh kick his fourth for the game while Lachie Jordan took control of the ruck.
Award winners were: Jed Simpson, Arthur McPhee, Rohan Ashton and Lachie Jordan.
