Jacob represented the ACT in the under-18s State Championships and performed admirably for someone so new to the sport.
His first game against Michael McQueen was a tight tussle for most of the match, with Jacob getting off to a great start but fading at the end to lose 22-9.
His second game was against Flynn O'Shaughnessy, who prevailed 23-1.
He was first introduced to bowls less than 12 months ago by his father, Jimmy and started playing socials on the weekend at the Queanbeyan Bowling Club.
"Playing bowls is fun because I can play Sunday socials with my dad, and meet new people all the time,” he said.
“Everyone gives me great advice on how to improve my game. "I played alright in the championships, it was good experience for me as a bowler and playing against a few of the older boys in Flynn and Michael really showed me what it takes to improve my game."
When asked if there were any future plans to play for Australia Jacob replied, "I want to play for Australia when I'm older, but at the moment I'm just focused on playing for Queanbeyan in pennants in the next few years.”
