QUEANBEYAN athlete Stephanie Pollard has accepted her first individual track and field scholarship with the South East Regional Academy of Sport.

The 14-year-old has been touted as one of the region's brightest prospects after a string of impressive competition results.

At the start of February she competed at the Australian Cup at the Queensland State Athletics Centre in Brisbane where she won the under 14 100m event.

Later in the month she competed at the ACT Athletics Senior Championships where she won the U16 100m and 200m and came second in the U16 400m event.

At the end of February, Stephanie competed at the NSW Little Athletics Regional Carnival in Wollongong and won the Under 14 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump and 80m hurdles.

There are 30 athletes from across south east NSW who received scholarships which provide athletes with education, personal development and sports science as well as direct funding to support them in achieving excellence in their chosen sport.
