The Bulldogs will be based in Canberra for their AFL community camp and will be visiting local schools and conducting clinics during their time in the region.
As well as the school visits, four of the players will also attend the Queanbeyan Tigers' junior registration day on Saturday February 13.
The registration day will be at Queanbeyan Park from 10am to 2pm, with the Bulldogs players in attendance from 12pm to 1pm.
“It is great to have the Bulldogs visit us and everyone is welcome to come along to the park and meet the players,” Tigers junior football manager, Adrian Pavese, said.
Mr Pavese said he hoped the attendance of the Bulldogs players would significantly increase the number of registered players for the upcoming season.
“This, along with a gala day on March 13 at Dairy Farmers Park, will be our biggest registration day for next season,” he said.
“We've currently got about 80 players signed up and we'd like boost the number before the start of the season.”
In other good news for the junior Tigers, the club is one of the recipients of $5000 from the NRMA Everyday Sporting Legends program.
Over 400 sporting clubs applied for a grant in the program, and the Tigers were one of the lucky few chosen to receive a grant to be spent at Rebel Sport.
The Tigers have 12 months to spend the grant money, which must be used on sporting equipment for the club.
“The judges, which included Dawn Fraser and Geoff Toovey, were really impressed with our entry and the fact we had over 120 people go online and register their support for the club,” Mr Pavese said.
“This will be a great boost for the club, especially now when dollars are at a premium.
“We buy new footballs every year and not only will we have money for them, but we will be able to buy other new training equipment as well.”
