IT'S back to the drawing board for the Queanbeyan Cricket Club.
After lodging a development application with the council for the construction of a cricket pavilion, changerooms and meeting rooms earlier this year, the club now has to rework their plans after the cost of the proposed building blew out to $2.326 million.
At last week's ordinary meeting, the council moved to advise the cricket club the building could not be funded by the council without other significant funding sources being made available.
The council also called on the cricket club to advise the council of its intentions, whether it wanted to go ahead with the approved development application, or whether smaller scale options would be considered.
Queanbeyan Cricket Club president and patron Ian McNamee said the building was originally designed to serve both the club and the Queanbeyan Roos.
This meant a two-storey building, constructed on a slope of land in between the two Freebody Ovals.
