THOSE out on the town in Queanbeyan on Friday night had an encounter of the canine kind as Queanbeyan police walked the streets with a drug detection dog.
Acting Duty Inspector for Queanbeyan Police, Nick Hallett, said the use of the drug detection dog was part of an ongoing investigation in Queanbeyan.
``The Monaro Drug and Property Unit were conducting ongoing investigations which culminated in the use of drug detection dogs on Friday night at licensed premises in Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra,'' he said.
``There were half-a-dozen indications with the dog and as a result, one caution was issued for one person possessing cannabis.
