CANNABIS with an estimated street value of $15,000 was seized by Queanbeyan Police on Wednesday.
At about 8am on Wednesday police from the Monaro Target Action Group executed a search warrant on a residential premises in Queanbeyan, seizing a large amount of cannabis in the form of dried leaf and a significant amount of money.
Acting Inspector for Monaro Local Area Command Nick Hallet said police arrested a 43-year-old Queanbeyan man at the scene.
``The male person was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, dealing with proceeds of crime and goods in custody,'' he said.
``He is to appear in Queanbeyan local court on August 3.''
It comes after an attempted armed robbery at Icon Hair and Beauty last Thursday, where a man yielded a large knife at staff demanding money.
Inspector Hallet said the offender was met with verbal resistance from staff and fled the scene.
The man, who had his face covered at the time of the attack, is described as being between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a light coloured hooded top and grey tracksuit pants, with a large knife.
