NURTUREONE in Uriarra Road has offered to take all child care places and staff from the council owned South Queanbeyan Children's Centre (SQCC).
Queanbeyan City Council was approached by NurtureOne six to eight weeks ago, who expressed their interest in recruiting the centre's qualified teachers while also transferring the child care places.
Queanbeyan City Council general manager Gary Chapman said the approach came shortly after council commenced workshops discussing the centre's future, as it had been losing money for about ten years.
``NurtureOne actually came and saw us,'' he said.
``They couldn't get qualified staff, and therefore they could not run at their full capacity of 90 places.
``It was just coincidental, or just a bit freaky that they came and talked to us.'' NurtureOne has already interviewed nine staff from SQCC and offered them positions at the centre on Uriarra Road.
