While two of the city's most promising young cricketers, Dean Solway and Guy Gillespie, have booked themselves a ticket to the final match of the NSW Country Cricket Championships after their Southern/ACT squad breezed through its three games undefeated in Wagga Wagga last weekend.
Gemma Varcoe QUEANBEYAN and Canberra are playing host to a number of international one day cricket matches between defence force squads hailing from Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Fiji, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The International Defence Cricket Challenge began on November 16 and is the fourth of its kind in the region, with previous tournaments being played in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
